Hi, I’m Lorenzo Good, an incoming Electrical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo . I enjoy working with Linux and spend a lot of time tinkering with my collection of NixOS cloud and physical servers. My current favorite languages are Golang and Rust , although I will reluctantly write C++ every once in a while (it’s just the build systems). I’m also experienced in the JVM ecosystem, and I’m currently learning Elixir because I’m interested in its scalability and reliability. On the EE side, I’m currently working on getting a better grasp of circuit design, as I’ve just finally gained the physics and math experience to truly understand what I’m doing.
I’m also a sailor and sailing instructor, with ~13 years on the water in many different types of boats, including Optimists, 420s, Lasers, 49ers, and various keelboats. I’ve competed in the 636-mile Newport-Bermuda race, numerous regattas, and countless practice races on lakes in Minnesota.
